How to read a Cambridge cable tie bag label

New to cable ties? Here's a quick explanation covering all you need to know about cable tie specifications and how they are listed on our packaging.

Our heading lists the Cable Tie type. This label is for a standard Cable Tie, so all it says is "CABLE TIES." Other types will say, for instance, "HEAVY DUTY" or "MULTI-PURPOSE."

Next is the length. This is the overall length of the cable tie from head to tail. They can vary from lengths from 4" up to 48". If you want something longer just ask and we can do that for you too!

Tensile Strength lists the maximum weight a cable tie can withstand. The label above has a tensile strength weight of 50 lbs. This lets the consumer know not to tie anything over that weight with this type of tie. Tensile strength can vary from 18 lbs. all the way up to 250 lbs. or more in some cases.

The Bundle Diameter shows the maximum diameter a cable tie can secure. This tie can secure up to 1.97" thick of cable or any other object that needs to be bound together. Diameters can measure from 0.9" all the way up to 11.61".

Cable ties come in various colors. The most common colors are Natural and Black, but they range from fluorescent orange to deep blue, pink, and green. This next row is where we call out the actual color of the cable tie, or if it comes in assorted colors.

The style of cable tie is listed next. There are a variety of cable ties such as Releasable, Double-Headed, Push Mount, Stainless Steel and many more. Depending on where or why you are using the cable tie will determine which cable tie suits your needs best.

Finally, the quantity is listed last. We carry quantities up to 1000 per cable tie bag.

We also list our UL certification marks on all of our bags to ensure the quality and safety of our products.

So now you know exactly what to expect when purchasing a bag of cable ties! Hopefully this quick summary can help with any questions or clear any confusion on what cable tie to use and which applications to use them in.
